PADI Assistant Instructor

The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You'll not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional but you'll also start learning the PADI System of diver education.

You can do this course with us in 4 days! OR if you have a busy life and prefer to self study more, you can do the e-learning option with the link below and then complete with us in a max of 3 days. We will spend the time you need to feel confident in teaching in the classroom and give all presentations not to just pass the course but to want to teach confidently after!

During the Course you will build and develope what you have learned in your Divemaster course and diving with your abilities to organize and supervise scuba diving activities, while concentrating on developing teaching skills.

You have Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations, Confined water skill review and assessment ( of which if you need extra help with confidence in skills demo we will provide this), workshops and presentations Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations!

As a PADI Assistant Instructors you can:

  • Teach academic presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor,
  • Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor,
  • Teach the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course
  • Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
  • Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences

Teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course. Teach PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty courses under the direction of a PADI Instructor after earning the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor rating.

Open Water Scuba Instructor

The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor program is your final step in becoming a PADI Instructor. During the IDC, you'll learn to use and adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs. Comprehensive training, supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials, earns a PADI Instructors respect from both students and peers. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct a broad range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba to Divemaster.
The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating sets you apart from the crowd.

This is a Fun course which takes personal commitment to self study before starting the course, interact during the course and prepare presentations for following days, but during this you will meet many new people, learning from them, getting contacts for the future and challenging yourself!

Open Water Scuba Instructor

During the course you’ll learn how to apply the PADI System of Education by presenting at least:

Two confined water teaching presentations
Two knowledge development presentations
One open water teaching presentations integrating two skills

You will demonstrate competence at:

  • Performing all 24 dive skills listed on the Skill Evaluation.
  • Performing a facedown, nonstop swim for 800 metres/yards using a mask, snorkel and fins.
  • During the course you’ll need to demonstrate competency in Dive theory by passing a five-part theory exam scoring 75% on each part
